Rosehip Oil Benefits- Not Your Ordinary Face Oil
What is Rosehip Seed Oil?
Rosehip oil does not come from rose petals, but rather it is a natural oil extracted from the small, bright-red-seed pods of wild roses from the Rosa moschata, Rosa canina, or Rosa rubiginosa family. The inside flesh of the rosehip seed pod is a deep, reddish-orange color which is why rosehip seed oil is known for its bright orange hue. Rosehip oil has a natural “earthy scent”.
Why Does Rosehip Oil Feel So Light and Absorb Faster Than Other Face Oils?
Rosehip oil has a unique fatty acid composition exemplified by lower levels oleic acid, the main fatty acid in olive oil, avocado oil, and tamanu oil. Facial oils that are higher in oleic acid can feel heavier (greasy) and tend to absorb more slowly. In contrast, rosehip oil is comprised of approximately 60% linoleic acid, 20% linolenic acid and 20% oleic acid. This lightweight fatty acid composition is why rosehip oil is known as a “dry oil”, meaning it feels lighter and absorbs faster leaving skin feeling clean and baby soft. Rosehip oil is also rich in Vitamins A and C, which help to nourish skin's natural protective barrier.
Who Can Use Rosehip Oil?
Rosehip seed oil is generally tolerated by all skin types, even sensitive and acne-prone skin types.

What is The Best Way to Store Your Skincare Products to Preserve Freshness?
Always store skincare oils, serums, and moisturizers in cool and dry areas (ie, away from high humidity areas like your shower and bathtub) and out of direct sunlight. Alternatively, you can refrigerate your skincare products to help preserve freshness and add a cooling sensation during the warmer months of summer.
